by UFL Writer Tim Bernard

ATLANTA, GA--  The United Football League (UFL) is pleased to announce that the Pittsburgh Pioneers will join the Atlanta Wildcats, Kansas City Kapitals, and Chicago Blue Bombers in joining the league for the 2022 campaign.

The Pioneers are located in the United States' twenty-seventh most populous metro area in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, provides the UFL a presence in one of the nation's football strongholds. Pittsburgh as a community supports its high school, college, and professional football teams with high attendance numbers, and Pioneers' officials are hoping this may be replicated in a spring football offering.

Additional details about the Pioneers franchise were not immediately released, but the UFL has asked teams to limit additional information until the full roster of teams for 2022 has been released.

The UFL will make additional team and league announcements later this fall in an official league press release slated for later this fall.
